Well, I'm pretty sure having seen this type of fake many times over the years. There is nothing at all about that watch that is even remotely correct.
I think Cristos has already said it. Nothing about the watch - dial, dial markers, hands, logo, font, case - remotely resembles a real omega
He is quite right. Start some education here. https://omegaforums.net/threads/how-do-i-identify-my-vintage-omega-watch.93146/ And then check this lot of examples. https://omegaforums.net/threads/don...omegas-post-them-here-not-for-questions.6235/
Watches have been faked for over 100 years. Many Patek, Omega etc pocket watches were faked with cheap movements, the trade goes on today.
The good news is that it may contain a reasonably reasonable movement, maybe an AS 1130 or similar. You could clean the print off the dial and just have a nice little "sterile" Swiss watch.
I will give you a few of pointers for free but don't expect people to do your basic research for you. Firsty the markings inc the triangle are almost invariably inside the caseback, not on the outside. Secondly I would be 99% sure that isn't even solid gold so that is also a major give away. This means it isn't just a fake but in some jurisdictions is subject to seizure and destruction since passing off precious metals is much more serious than trademark violation. Thirdly, no Omega I have ever seen has the word 'Antimagnetic' on the dial. Have you ever seen one in your research? Fourthly the fonts are all wrong.
Forgery isn't a recent invention. Here's an article about fake money in antiquity. https://coinweek.com/ancient-coins/bad-money-ancient-counterfeiters-and-their-fake-coins/
Did you have the case tested for gold content? BTW, the last time I was in the NYC Subway system, the fare was $3. One way. gatorcpa
Common fake. Most likely a AS movement in it. These are often referred to as gas station fakes. The story is in Italy a guy would say he needed money for gas and sell the watch at a “loss” to buy gas. There are a few signs. Omegas marked anti magnetic don’t exist with one or 2 exception and this is not one. Omega never marked the back of the watch, those marks are always on the inside of the watch and the hallmarks are fakes in this case. It is not an 18k solid case. It might be much lower gold content, brass, or plated, I can’t tell from the pictures. Lastly the font on the dial is wrong as well as the dial design. Ironically the AS movement is actually pretty decent inside. AS made low cost movements found in low end watches and often fakes. AS also made movements for Tudor(Rolex) and many other more affordable brands.
