Hi,

I inherited a omega pocket watch and I need help in figure out the mecanism in that watch, when was it produced, and the value of it. I'd like to know if it is a good idea, and not that expensive to get it serviced.

The watch has a back with two hunters, I believe this is not stock, and problaby will hurt the value of the piece. The dial is in very good condition, and the hands are blueish.

Thank you all for your time,

Old Omega pocket watches are usually not that valuable but they they make serviceable time pieces if they are in running condition. The service may cost more than the watch but that is neither here nor there. Quite a few Omega-movement pocket watches were branded Regina, here in Canada. The 2 position adjusted was a mid-grade watch, and I have one of these along with a unadjusted American Waltham.

There are serial number-date tables available on numerous websites. According to these, your watch was manufactured sometime in or around 1924. In many markets, Omega shipped the finished movements that were installed in cases that were manufactured locally. This minimized import duties to keep costs down.

If you wind your watch a few turns and it operates, it may not require any parts in which case, the service costs may be reasonable. The movement is relatively simple, so a local independent watchmaker should be able to service it, unless it requires parts (which may be hard to come by).
