Hi there, Just found in a house of a my old uncle this Omega ..i don t see anywhere this model on the web..the case i assume to be stainless steel, 37mm ..i suppouse a late 20 s era made.. If anybody could help to identify this reel and what it could be worth.. Thanks in advance
The radial flip of the seconds numerals and the font thickness has me feeling that the dial has been redone. We need to see more to be sure of anything.
I have similar questions but if it is a 20-30’s era... in an Omega case?? Although37mm from that era seems large.
Thanks guys imagine, i guess the watch was sleeping inside a armchair since 50 years ago when the father of my old uncle passed away , he was the owner of the ree l . I will go in a shop soon to open the case and look at inner case and i will post photos. Thank you !!
You know, Foo, the logo doesn't look bad, this could be legit, an old redial or a complete Ukrainian abomination. 37mm and that dial have me very skeptical, but I am wrong more than I am right, just ask my wife.
Interesting. Logo and font look OK for the probable period. Case and crown are still very sharp for such an old watch unless it's been coddled all its life. Would like to see more pictures of the front/sides/crown/insides taken in good natural light.
Kind of like you, Jim! The armchair for 50 years would explain a lot, but so would some monkey-business. Can't wait for photo's, Ubbi, here's a guide. https://omegaforums.net/threads/vintage-omega-posting-guide.383/
We need a pic of the dial without the hands on the logo and a pic of the inside of the case back. But it could be ok! Actually the omega script and (what I can see of) the logo look good for the period. The rest of the dial could be ok as well. 37,5 mm is rare for the period but watches of that size do exist. They usually command a premium when out for sale...
I think it should have a 26,5. It looks to me but we need other pics to be sure. An exemplar of what it could be: http://www.thewatchadviser.com/the-shop/omega-calatrava-caliber-265 By the way, the price of the watch above is high, too high, but not that much considering the (crazy?) market for this kind of watch...
Wow !!! Thank you very very much...yes it is almost identical to mine....and what a great value !!! Can t wait tomorrow to go to the watchmaker and open to see the movement..i will post pics asap... Cheers
I agree with François Pepin, looks like a very desirable large 26.5 from around 1937. need pictures to say more...
