Old Omega Constellation

I was wondering if you could tell me anything about this watch. It was my Dad's and I'm pretty sure he bought it before 1970, or at the very latest the early 70s. It came in a red leather (I think) box. I have found similar watches like it but not with both the date and the numbers 6-9-12 on the face, not even on Omega's own website of their vintage watches. Any info you could give me would be great!

Hi Patrick. I answered on the other forum, but I'll repeat it here: the watch is most likely a very late 50's or early 60's caliber 561 or maybe a 505, but it definitely has a refinished dial.

Hi,
Thanks for the reply. I know nothing about watches, and I was wondering what 'refinished dial' means. Thanks!

The original paint that came from the Omega factory in Bienne has been stripped off. It probably was in bad shape, so a dial refinisher has repainted it. The fonts are not exactly the same. For some reason, no dial refinisher can get those exactly correct.

One other thing I found is a certificate that says Movement No. 18327202

That's from 1961. Odds say it's a case reference 14.393 with a caliber 561.

I don't think it can be a 505, it has a date. Probably a 561.
