    Hi

I am new to your forum and need some advice.

The attached pics are from my Grandfather's Omega. It is I believe an early 50's Automatic 14K gold filled. Case says G6232.

It runs for a very short while then stops.

Is it worth reconditioning or should I sell for part? What is the relative value?

    Thanks

    What’s sentimental value worth?

Sure, the watch has some issues and it will take a few bucks to service the movement and replace the seconds hand that is missing.

Looking at $200 to $300 for service, I guess. Value of watch is about that.

If all you need is something that tells the time, a Wal-Mart watch will do that for a lot less than the cost of servicing the Omega. You have to keep in mind whether you are motivated by wants, or needs. If you WANT the Omega, the cost of servicing it could be as much or more than what you could sell it for. If you are motivated only by needs, you may go for the Wal-Mart watch. But you will have to decide. In the right hands, the Omega could be returned to health, and it could be a fun one to have. Likely worth it for the pleasure it could give.
