Could you see this old de ville on ebay?
I like it but am wondering if this watch is really worth paying almost 1450 dollars.

Any comments will be highly appreciated.

Wasn't there another thread yesterday about this ? It's not a common model so I guess it might be rarer than most other designs. It's probably overpriced but who knows, perhaps the seller is just waiting for that Saudi prince to hit BUY NOW. :)

Hmm, these 151.0039s produced around 1970 with the floral dials are certainly attractive. This one no longer has its black onyx cabochon crown unfortunately. Movement is the ultra-thin cal 711. The movement is accessed through the case front, and, not that the seller would probably acquiesce, the movement should be inspected.

Hard to say what's its worth, but if it has a well looked after cal 711 I imagine some knowledgeable collectors may want to pay up to 6 - 850.00 for it.

The only difference, I noticed, between this and what I recently purchased is a description on the back.
    19.5.53-78
    What does this mean?
And, this could make this much big value difference?
I paid 500 bucks for mine.

    I'll say it again

    It's a date set: 19/5/1953 to 19/5/78,

    25 years 0 months 0 days
    or 300 months 0 days
    or 1304 weeks 3 days
    or 9,131 days
    or 219,144 hours
    or 13,148,640 minutes
    or 788,918,400 seconds

maybe a 25th birthday watch for somebody.

Huh? ::confused2:: Could you please explain that again :D For all we know it could mean that he bought 19 parakeets at the 5th Wyoming parakeet auction in 1853 with an average weight of the birds at 78 grams. I find this more likely than a 25th jubilee.

I have seen this auction as well, I am actually looking for this watch, I could see another one going for 200 eur last year, I think the request on this one is crazy, just 1000 eur over a reasonable price.... will keep on looking as I definitely want to add this one to my omegas.....
