    Hi All,
    I have an old Constellation that was left to me by my father, it has been in storage since 1991. I have recently got it out and decided I should get it serviced and valued.
    I did take it to a local jeweller but was not happy with comments he made and would not leave it with him (seemed a bit dodgy as he would not open the case whilst I was there so I could verify the serial number!), I live in the UK, West Midlands and have since been advised to take it to The Jewelery Quarter in Hockley B'Ham and check with a few shops for quotes on service.
    I have tried to look the watch up on the Omega web site but can't find anything similar, I don't know its age or what model etc it may be, I think it may be 18K from one of the hallmarks on the strap but can't clearly see the mark on the watch case.
    I would be grateful however if anyone can give any helpful advice or can identify what year / model it may be?

    Here are a few pics;

    Hi Alex
    Welcome

    You have a gold C- cases Connie
    In pretty good shape too although I suspect the case has seen some polishing
    There was an interesting discussion on the forum re gold straps recently
    Search 'my vintage omegas' thread
    Also look up Desmond's Omega Constellation collectors blog
    Loads of info on there
    As for servicing - ideally you need a vintage watch specialist rather than just a jeweller who services watches - I don't know if there are any in B'ham
    Once opened - very carefully as gold is soft and scratches easily - you can get the case type and serial number
    Hope that helps

    From a German catalogue, 1964, and from my favourite starting place when investigating watches:

    I'd love if those catalogues would show the buckle!
    Found another one for sale recently, like this one, there was no Omega markings on the inside of the clasp.
