Hi guys, I'm a omega collector but my brother bought a early chrono poljot. I dont know anything about them. He bought it for $ 1000. He was searching for a long time for this example. He would like to know if it's a fair price. But more importantly, are there any negatives about the watch? Is the cal ok? What year was it produced? How do we know? Are the pushers and crown ok? Is the bracelet original to the watch? Where can we find more info about the watch other then the info below: OKEAH watches were originally produced and issued for the soviet navy by the 1st Moscow Watch Factory. Beautiful stainless steel case with mineral crystal. It mounts a 3133 chronograph movement with date function which was derived from the Valjoux 7734 Swiss caliber. The watch internal rotating bezel that can be used to read a second time zone. The watch has also a telemeter scale that can be used to estimate distances. The telemeter scale is, appropriately for a watch to be used by the Navy, in nautical miles. Distances are estimated by measuring the time since the origin of the sound by some visual reference to the moment the sound is actually heard. Distance is then read, in nautical miles, on the telemeter scale. Model: Okeah 3133 Chrono Caliber: 3133 chrono (Valjoux-7734 based), hand-winding, 23 jewels, 30 minutes counter, date window Note: this one is a great and historical Poljot model. An Okeah was used by the cosmonaut Razhdestvensky during the heroic rescue of himself and fellow cosmonaut Zudov on the ill-fated Soyuz-23 mission. Originally it was destined to naval officers. Mineral glass, stainless steel case, screwed caseback, internal turnable bezel. Thanks guys!
One on the bay for $699.99. Looks NOS. https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?mpre=https://www.ebay.com/ulk/itm/282807795416
The dial look original. It has the 2 piece reset mechanism which dates it to pre 1987 or so IIRC. I would be concerned that the movement contains different coloured gears - I thought that they should all be gold coloured. There is s good website which gives a history of the 3133 movement and dating guide - it should show up if you search watchyouseek. Or I can give you the address later today when I get home to my pc rather than being here on my phone... I was looking for an original okean but thought I could get one at a lower price than 1000....
www.polmax3133.com has a good guide to dating/verifying 3133 movements with a bit on Okean dials. Please let me know what you conclude!
Well, the case appears to be in very silky condition. These things can be created by re-dialling, I've done it myself. Handsets are available as are movements. He's paid top dollar and I sincerely hope his new watch is top dollar. Everything should be smooth.
$1000 is a lot to pay, even for an original 70s/80s Okeah. The lume on the hands looks newer than the lume on the dial. As you say, movements, dials and handsets are all available.
What’s with the dail? Seems to be not good alligned. Also spring minute jumper needs some adjusment. Both raising conserns regarding the last service. Men
I don't know these watches, but I do know there's an internal rotating bezel, if that's what you mean by 'not good alligned (sic)'. So, nothing wrong there... As for the minute jumper, I'm not sure how you can tell it needs 'adjusment (sic)' based on a picture.
The crown at 9 rotates the bezel - it's the same on my Sturmanskie. You're right about the chrono seconds hand, though. It should reset to 12 but it looks slightly off.
Compare the position of the date window with the rest. Dail realy looks not good alligned. Regarding the minute jumper...as the hammers are in the watch is in reset/zero position. The spring should rest nicely inbetween 2 tooths (blue) and not as is.
here's my early 1990s Poljot 3133 for comparison. Bezel is slightly misaligned (I actually find it rotates a little while I'm wearing it presumably due to friction with my wrist). And date window indeed looking a bit rough. But chrono seconds hand sitting at 12 after reset.
