Time to change up the watch, give something else a little wrist time. Grab the '44 Omega, look it over, fall in love again, give it about three winds to get it going and strap it on my wrist.

Several hours later remember that the 30T2 is NOT AN AUTOMATIC MOVEMENT!!!

    Oh dopey me.

Go ahead and laugh (it is funny as hell after all)..... but I can't be the only one who has done this, its like the curse of owning too many watches.

Fritz, a number of us feel your pain, we are happy to take a few burdens off your mind and wrist...start with handing out the Omegas, and we will direct you from there...;)

A few years back I had to rationalize the garage..... too many wierd controls on the motorcycles
I had, licenced and in use:

1953 Triumph 500TRW, right hand shift
1963 Gilera 125SS, right hand shift, reversed shift pattern
1977 Jawa 350TS, left hand shift
1975 Jawa 350TS, left hand shift, reversed shift pattern and a sidecar (so completely different steering and handling!)
1975 Suzuki GT185, normal controls but shit brakes..... odd since it had the only disc in the garage....
    1980 Dnepr 650, heel/toe rocking type shifter.

After dumping a transmission or two into the wrong gear at speed I figured something had to give..... I had quite the sale that fall and drove a dirt bike to work for the next three years.

I often set mine in a hurry and for some inexplicable reason do it an hour out. It can take me all (very confusing) morning to work it out.

I've done that many times too, and first thing I think is that the watch is failing, then I realize that it was a wrong set.

I did that this morning actually! The day was going by at a reasonable pace until I realized it was an hour later than my watch was indicating....damn!

Morning winding syndrome. We all get that one in a while.

Very common problem IF majority of your daily wearers are automatic (or quartz).

I was wearing my gold Seamaster bumper for a few days after getting it from the drawer.

One of my mates noticed and commented that it was a nice watch, but the time was wrong.

I said "Yeah, I know, I don't use it to tell the time, I just love wearing it and looking at it".

He gave me a strange look that I'm sure most WISs get sometimes.

(I'd just forgotten to set the time, but I couldn't tell him that could I :))
