has a poorly redone dial... but at this price... depends on the condition of the movement

Let's save a copy of what is being discussed for posterity:

    s-l1600.jpg

Hour and minutes hand look correct. Seconds hand a replacement.

    Movement? Dial? Who knows.

    Someone's a gambler.

    Hi guys

up a 2410 ... I am a gambler... i would like it in as is condition.. ( replacement of the crystal. )

Hard to tell on the dial might be original , hands look good... seconds ? you have to assume worse case its a 30 mm movement not a rg.. and it sort of ran... i would spend up to about 700$ " find out" .... oh well...

    good hunting

I was outbid as well...dial looks redone to me though. Maybe an older one.

    Achim,

    sorry to disagree...

The dial "could be original" - ... but not for a ref. 2410

All of the original 2410 I have observed (and there were a few) have:

    1) Omega logo first
    2) Chronometre below
    3) Omega below

on this dial in question "Chronometre" is not in the right place, could have been added later on to a non chronometer dial.
(Unfortunately the photo is of low quality and low resolution which makes it even more difficult to judge).

And yes, there are chronometer dials with inversed sequence of words but only on some late (araound 1950) "exotic" references, never seen this on an original 2410

And that dial style is a 2410 hence it's a redial - which it looks like from the way the fonts appear anyway.

I rode it up to 500 but concerned about the hole in the crystal and the damage from the result............

IMO the 2410 case by itself and the movement is worth significantly above the final auction price. If I saw this I would have bid quite a bit higher.

Problem is. With no movement shot. Crap shoot as to whats inside. Seen numerous watches with movements replaced, balance bridges replaced etc.

Could have been a pile of rust inside.

If I can't see the movement. It's just a case
