.... and I'm smitten! The pictures can do all the talking:
Needs BoR! But then I always say that. Looks awesome man, I love how fine the printing is on the rough dial surface.
Very nice - well done
That dial really is beautiful, almost looks like polished stone!
Wow thats a nice looking watch, beutifull dial ccolour.
Very nice Dennis, the dial is stunning. What is is made of ?. It reminds me of the blackened meteorite dial on the Omega Apollo Soyuz !.
Yea has a sort of granite or slate look to it. Something I've always wondered is if they made Ivory dials (its a politically sensitive topic, personally I think the practice is terrible, but I accept old Ivory as indignation doesn't make the animal it came from any less dead).
It's black paint on a copper plated metal dial, with metal flake in it. Then it's clear coated. I'm not 100% sure if it's from the copper under the paint or it's the same as the paint used for the lettering or some combination of the two. Desmond tells me it's from the copper plating. The texture comes from the clear coat crazing.
How in the hell did you find this thread?
Oh damn I just realized it’s a zombie thread. Well still a nice Connie lol
Thanks for bringing this oldie back so we can appreciate this watch a bit.
