Hi folk new to this Forum, my watces today is a Speedy and a Semaster, in love with both . i was offered one more Speedy that i have a question for, its a Speedy "Moonwatch" manufatured in 1982 145.022, in super condition, one owner watch, been used for just som weeks (owner didnt like it), Red dot still in place, if i look cloose with magnifier, the watch have never been opened, still have the Blue protective colour around the seamaster logo on the back, complete with orginal recipt box and other pappers, but tht problem i have is the price, owner want 2600E, i think its ok but i really dont know, any suggestions?.
So it's a Full set with Box&Papers Original buyers recipt and in, from what you are saying, basicly NOS condition.... For 2,6€... Go for it. And include some pictures here please! .
Her is some photos, exatra peace for the bracelett is also in box.i see that i missed to take a photo of the Red Dot.
But if it's from 1982 and has never been serviced you might wanna calculate a few additional bucks to have it serviced.
Getting a current model for $2900 USD would be a deal not often replicated these days. OP it's a pretty good price, but if it's been setting in a drawer for more than 30 years, you are going to need to get it serviced, which will be a minimum of 500 Euro most likely.
yes i understnad that it may need Service, it runs great now , with a nice crisp "sound" in it, it sounds more happy than my 2010 Speedy that was served in 2014
As @Archer would say - it doesn't take a whole lot of running with zero lubrication before damage starts occurring. My speedy that I got ran great until it didn't, and had a fair amount of wear inside that had to be repaired and replaced. How much of that I caused, vs how much had been caused by others since its last service I can't say.
i agree on the Serviceopinion but the one thing that i think was kind of cool with this watch is that it never been opened.....Red dot is there, but ofcourse its not good for the movement to be used if that its not served...and a watch is made to be used, not sitting in a drawer...i know if this sounds kind of strange to talk about the red dot..
Not Strange at all, but from the two pictures you Posted it's obvious that, albeit not much, the watch was worn a few times. If it was a 100% NOS (New old stock) there would maybe be an argument to keep the red dot in place. And then again never wear it and keep it in a safe as an investment piece. But as you said your self, watches are Made to be worn. And Even without the red dot, a 145.022 in this condition, serviced, and as a Full set, has a great value retention and will appreciate in the future, even when worn, in my opinion. So don't worry about the red dot too much. Get the Watch, get it serviced (not by Omega obviously), and wear or with pride!
I have been searching for a 1982 Speedy. It is my birth year. If you don't want it please PM me the details of who is selling it.
I am a Briton, I understand the queue system Wait, does somebody not have to say "dibs" to make the request official? If so, "dibs"
Damn, I did not read rules on that (its yours )...... but I read you need 200 post for post in FS thread and that some people dont like too many BUMP
