Bump for Bill. He likes early square pusher chrono’s- here are two of mine, both at the watchmaker getting spa treatment right now. Let’s see yours.

haha - ok... might have posted on WRUW a few days back. Bill sold me this one a few years ago and this is one of my favourite go-to watches, I always feel good when I have it on my wrist, despite zero tatoos!

Take care Bill. I'll post a couple of bake sale items too shortly

I know just the person who does that. In December 2014 my daughter and I were hit head on at highway speeds and we spent a few weeks in the hospital with broken legs and ribs, including through Christmas and New Years. I'd sold a high-end and very expensive electrostatic headphone rig ($3k), and while in the hospital I had my son pack it up and ship it for me.

    So, assistance sent!

Damn, did the trunk actually get damaged in the impact? It looks like you and your daughter were very lucky to come through that. We drive tons of metal
Around everyday day and we think very little of it

No, my son drove from CO to KS to remove our belongings from the car two days later, and sent me the pics while I was in the hospital. So he had everything open. Everything inside the trunk survived!

Unfortunately our luggage was looted from the car while it sat in the tow lot - bastards took all the valuable items that the ambulance didn't take with us! I managed to get all my watches, firearm, and oxygen concentrator before being transported to the hospital, but cameras and other jewelry and electronics were gone.

Also, my daughter was in a wheelchair for 20 months, after breaking both legs while still pushing the brake pedal to the floor while the other car slid into us sideways on a slippery road - way too fast for conditions. She has a permanent ankle fusion on the right side, and may need an ankle replacement when she gets older. Her other ankled healed well like mine, but still bothers her.

The combined closing speed was over 100 mph, with the other guy still doing about 70 when he hit us going a little over 30. His truck looked worse after flipping over the top of our car, but the driver and his dog sustained only cuts and bruises.

Done! Would have been sooner but I just got back from a week-long business trip.

Quite an odd return journey as I was first to board this afternoon (I'm usually a laggard). Halfway down the jetway I saw that the aircraft was not the usual white one but a military grey one. Strange. Then I caught a partial glimpse of the large black text down the side of the plane: xxxx Air Force! I wondered if I had taken a wrong turn somewhere. The safety card also had an unfamiliar Military logo on it. Now I was starting to panic (destination Afghanistan?), but noticed that it contained the NATO logo, so if I was going to get shot at least it would be friendly fire. :D

As you can see I got back without incident so the least I could do was get the donation sorted as job 1.

Wishing you a speedy and stress-free recovery.

    Cheers

    Longbow

@Molko - every bit helps, your contribution to the cause is just as meaningful as anyone’s. I’m sure Bill’s family appreciates it.
@Longbow - glad you made it home safely and that your priorities of checking OF came before greeting your family

Although it may be annoying to some on the forum to keep bumping this and the Bake sale thread, and I have been accused of being annoying (I like to think of it as persistent and determined), we have many member who only check in occasionally and rarely read below the first page of posts. I’m sure they would want to help @watchdaddy1 if they know what happened. I also appreciate the members who have been helping keep these threads going when it slackens over the course of a day. I promise, we won’t clutter your screen for long- just long enough so the regulars get a chance to see the threads.

There's only $13K left to reach the gfm goal. If anyone really wants you to shut up about it, they can go ahead and max the thing out.
