Not quite sure where to put this question - so I’ll start here.

Who’s the best contact on what computer language the forums source code is written in, is the forum open source, and are community feature requests/updates supported or frowned upon.

Following that Q - what do folks think about having a eBay alias field added to your profile, and a link that takes you to - my current items for sale?

Linking to eBay auctions would spell disaster for this forum. This is a discussion forum, not a sales forum.

Fair enough - although my intent was not to do that - more to make it easier for folks to understand when they're buying from eBay that a member had an established presence on OF.

A a quick lookup on OF might drive more conversation to OF rather than eBay messages.

We don’t want traffic from eBay we want traffic from watch enthusiasts

The buy sell profit mentality has diminished the forum enough.

& I agree with this - and that's _exactly_ my point...

Is it fair to say that OF is a relationship community, and a lot of trading is done between folks who've done previous business. Like you & I for example. It bugs me that I end up on eBay, and buy from that venue, whereas I'd rather build that relationship here...

My conjecture, is that many folks on OF are listing on eBay regularly, and perhaps not posting a 1:1 listing match between the eBay and OF. [EDIT - this comment is mostly aimed at smaller components and parts]

There are many horses for courses.
And your not going to be able to get everything, parts wise here.
WTB is a great tool but many things will need other sources.

I fixed it by not buying money pit projects. (I learnt this the hard way early on.)
