Some one said start a thread,

Some of us have been around for a while, so why not re-live some of the Classic,s we have had here.

We have had cheese threads, weasel threads and many more side splitting and informative threads. So pick your favourite old thread for the newer ones to see what this place is all about.

Will start of with a train wreck that happened a while back ( Grab a or 🍿 for this one )

It was of mild interest to start with.
And then a couple of days later I picked it up again.
It just seemed to draw one in like the Sirens, or a whirlpool.
Not only here, but at "that other place", it started brewing like the control rods had dropped and the reactor was going to go China Syndrome.
I was still working then and remember my first thing in the morning (05:30) was to see how it was proceeding.

Ah, them was the good ole days...........

Douche-baggery of quite a high order, and a remarkable audacity to come back from the 'dead' (ie. banned) again and again. Funny in spots, but a great example of how hard our mods work in blocking some of the nonsense that come from the scum of the (horological) universe.

Ahh that was certainly a good thread. Jrippen was a handful for sure. Lot of OF knowledge went into that thread. Good stuff.

Who posted the "pretending to sell a watch" FS post? That was single-handedly one of the greatest things I've ever read. Major props to whoever was clever enough to do that.

Guiltily, I have had a few memorably shitty threads of my own. I have also stumbled across some gems that I will try and locate.

Would you believe that I finally stopped lurking and signed up for an OF membership after reading (and LMFAO) that very same thread? 😀)

Are we doing a flashback episode? Are the writers on vacation? 👎

Some real gold here, and the fun of OF is the good mix of all types of threads. It's the veritable America of watch forums! 😉

Everclear... damn that kid when he grows up and realises he's attached his full real name to being the watch equivalent of a dodgy used car salesman he's going to start regretting some of his decisions.

There have been many more Everclear's since him as well, it takes very little to become a car-boot watch dealer and its the one realisation that occurs to them all, if you spend $20 to regulate or find a watchmaker desperate enough to do part-repairs rather than servicing watches before sale there's money to be made. You just have to be willing to throw your personal reputation away for the few lousy grand you'll make here before you get found out and blackballed by the collector community.
