OEM case back gaskets: worth the additional expense?

My watchmaker believes there’s no appreciable difference in the quality of OEM case back gaskets (like for a Speedmaster), vs whatever generic equivalent is available in the same specification. Agree or disagree?

Yeah, OEM $12/gasket. Seems expensive. Aftermarket a few dollars at most.
