    . . . that looks ok now.

https://www.ebay.ca/itm/1958-OMEGA-...424817?hash=item44183cf771:g:k4YAAOSwdTJajIqdPurchases made through these links may earn this site a commission from the eBay Partner Network

This was listed last week as a "19 jewel" cal 505. I sent the seller a message:

    Hi,

Can you provide a pic with the movement caliber number in view?

    Thanks,

    Art

    His reply:

Hola... I checked the movement but it does not have the caliber number, before continuing with the auction I will take it with my watchmaker to know the reason for this.
    Thank you very much

Compare the current listing above with text from the canceled listing:

"Automatic movement Cal. 505 Adjusted Five Positions and Temperatures 19 jewels
Serial #16255444. I don't know when was the last service, but looks and works great."

The rotor and associated bridge have been replaced in the current listing compared to the previous listing last week. There are nine bidders at the moment.

It is a shallow pie pan. Guy must have poured lacquer into it until it filled up...

Actually it is not what we call a pie pan.

Not a pie pan, but an original dial, and mostly correct overall. But the switched rotor and bridge probably means the movement has been tampered with. Impossible to tell if the original movement was a 505 (likely) or a 501, what's fitted now is an amalgamation.

With a 16M serial number, it was certainly a cal. 505.

The cal. 501’s barely touched the 15M range.

The rotor bridge looks replaced, but seems to be the correct part and the coloration of the rotor itself matches the rest of the movement.

The watch looks decent to me otherwise. Maybe a little polished, that’s all.

Don't you think the dial has been scrubbed, judiciously?
Missing second markers, & the grit that couldn't be removed from around the printing are ugly results.

The quality of the dial pictures is poor, but it is very difficult to photograph black dials.

I would buy it at the current asking price in a heartbeat. Stick a “1” in front of it, and I wouldn’t touch it.

All about how much you want to pay and how much you want to gamble.

The rotor has also been replaced. I can't download images from the seller's listing, and unable to paste the link, either.

    Art -

The picture I posted is from the listing.

I just took a screenshot on the phone and cropped it down.

When I download images from an eBay listing, I first click on the image to bring up the enlarged image viewer. Then I can right mouse button (RMB)to save the images. You can also copy the image's link address from the RMB menu.

    Voila!

Movement production number hasn't changed, but the rotor and associated bridge have.

Tell the seller that I would be happy to buy that 19J rotor if he wants to sell it. I have a Cal. 501 Constellation that needs the correct rotor, and that’s the right one.

Seller replied in the negative. He had to exchange rotors with another person, and no longer has it.

    The Connie sold for US$1225.
Interestingly, this Zenith 18K chrono sold shortly after for $100 less. That's what makes a market interesting.
