Quote relative to another recent thread:

"In a third floor office, he turned back an old manual wall clock one hour by moving the hands forward 11 hours, since turning the hands backward could break the mechanism, said Mr. Schneider, who then stood listening to the pendulum swing, clicking softly as the city bustled below."

Very nice indeed @STANDY. BUT!.... when you say NEVER NEEDS REPAIRS???:whistling:

(Quote from a bearded, brainy, basstedd, astronomer):

"Sun is right in the middle ages, in a time known as the main sequence. It has already lived for 4.3 billion years, and will likely last another 7 billion years or so. At that point, it will balloon into a red giant star, and eventually collapse down into a white dwarf."

Then we're all well and truly 'fakked'......:(

7 billion years.......really puts it into perspective how little time we spend on this planet of ours.

Wow! I thought at first you'd said 7 Million years. What a relief.

Very true! Very true!... and yet some of our dear brethren on Omega forums are laying awake, at night, worrying because their Omega 321 is gaining 20 seconds in 24hrs! ::confused2::
