Here's another one of those Zeniths like the A 277 - not so hard to find, but pretty hard to find in any kind of decent shape. It's probably because these steel, black dial pieces saw hard use. This one is is often referred to as a military watch or a pilot watch, but I've yet to see firm information that it was officially issued by any armed force. Certainly, Zenith meant it as a tool watch - the case back has the requisite specs An oblique shot shows the lume and the matte dial clearly Gallet's ExPark cal 143-6 inside It's my heartfelt opinion that ExPark had the two dial chrono dimensions perfect. An array of cal 143-equipped pieces gives you an idea of the range of the models. I think Zenith did this movement proud - better even thanGallet/Excelsion Park did!
Never left. The Longines was a target of opportunity. I remain omnivorous. I was the only bidder. It was a Buy It Now for an absurd price - about twice what it was worth. I sent in an offer that I thought was generous and the seller took it.
