Hi all A very noob question in regard to vintage Longines - what information does the number on the movement vs. the number on the inside case-back yield? Doing my due diligence, it seems that the number on the movement is the serial number which can be used to identify the year of production. With that in mind, what information does the number on the inside case-back provide? Apologies if this has been asked previously.
It depends on the era and the market. Cases can have serial numbers, order numbers, reference numbers, or other numbers associated with local production. This is a big topic so if you are curious about a specific watch, I would suggest posting photos here.
