NTTD complete set. Wooden box ever?

Looking for input from anyone who owns or has handled this specific reference (Seamaster Diver 300M 007 Edition, titanium on NATO, 210.92.42.20.01.001).





I bought one recently listed as “complete set” and it arrived in the standard Omega wooden presentation box (not the waxed canvas roll with leather straps that I understood to be standard for this reference). Warranty card and chronometer certificate inside match the reference number.





Has anyone seen this reference legitimately ship in the wooden box, or is the canvas roll the only correct packaging for .92? Trying to confirm whether this is just a box swap somewhere down the ownership chain or something more concerning. Photos attached of what arrived.





Appreciate any help, especially from anyone who bought theirs new from an AD.

That should have the watch roll thingy in a black box, so for sure lost somewhere down the line:

It is worth less like this, all things being equal, so make sure that was accounted for in the price which was presumably discounted. If not and it’s from an AD as you seen to suggest, you perhaps have a right of return.

As noted, it's not how Omega intended the watch to be sold. Funnily enough, when this first came out some people complained that all they got was a watch roll and not the wooden box.

There are many reasons the watch may have come to be separated from the original watch roll. When Jared Jewelers was an Omega AD they were the only AD in my state and their shop was only 5 minutes from where I worked, so I got to know the staff fairly well. The watches and documentation (warranty cards) were kept separate from the boxes. So when a sale was made the sales associate would need to round up everything. I could see someone not knowing the NTTD had a special box and gave the customer the standard wood box (and the customer not knowing either).

And some people would refuse the box--just wanting the warranty cards and watch. So extra boxes would accumulate. I have an extra one I keep for an Omega I own that I purchased without box.

I don't think anything nefarious is going on. But if you really wanted the correct set I would complain and either return the watch for refund or receive a discount as the set is not truly complete and you will take a slight ding on resale price if you ever go that route.

Mine came in the roll. Interesting that the roll has a place for a spring tool that is not included. My OB rep gave me one. Watch is long since sold though.

In the good old days it would have been sold on the bracelet and have the Nato strap included on the watch roll.

True. Sold it because the bracelet didn't work on my tiny wrist and I just don't like straps.

It's unfortunate that Omega does not more widely educate buyers that the mesh bracelet comes in 3 sizes and one size definitely does not fit all.

I tried two sizes and it just didn't work for me, Unfortunate because I like the watch itself a lot, but I refuse to use aftermarket bracelets.

Last I looked it came in 2 sizes and in any case that is only really relevant to the first buyer. If you buy used you have no way to change the bracelet*. The bracelet is why I sold mine too. It was a terrible design and quite ruined the watch for me.

*Edit, for free that is.

Yes but you don't have the facility to change it at no cost like you do when you buy new I mean. There was a lot to like with the NTTD, unfortunately there was one thing to massively hate. The OP has rather cleverly sidestepped this by purchasing the version on the NATO. I'm with you, no size fitted me well and I can't see how it would ever fit anyone else well since the way it overlaps when it is closed mean it is awfully fat on the bottom of your wrist. And there is no micro adjustment. Not Omega's finest hour.

Really appreciate all the replies 🙏🏼 asked the seller he said he would reach out to AD. Worst case I negotiate a discount a buy a replacement box/pouch off eBay. Leaves me with a replacement box which I’m sure will come in handy down the road.

The bracelet is $1500+, Lucky I found mine for cheap on facebook marketplace 😀
