Now That I Have Seen And Tried On The Po Skyfall Le....

I am most impressed. When I was last at the Boutique, I saw the watch in person, and tried it on. It actually felt smaller than I thought it would.

I really like the changes/updates to the Planet Ocean models. Especially the subdued black ceramic bezel with matt black dial. When I saw the LE, however, it seemed to have a bit more of a sparkle to it. I know the markers and applied logo and signature are the same, so maybe it was the dial, I don't know. I have to say, although I like the orange accents of the PO, the red highlights on the LE model really stand out.

Since I have seen this watch, I am even rethinking the new AT 8500 with blue dial! After all, the LE PO still has the wonderful 8500 movement, which is a big plus for me.

I really liked the looks of this watch, even better in person. The applied 007 logo at 7 o'clock looks great, and I thought that the model is extremely clever without being ostentatious.

I simply have got to try this one on again! It would be nice, at some point, to have a LE watch as well.

    Cheers,
    Carl

The dial pattern is very cool, has a real Patek Aquanaut look to it

Great looking watch. Would be in my wish list.
I am glad they put 007 logo in more subtle way.

It is a beautiful watch and I wish they hadn't touched the dial with the 7 o'clock marker but hey it is a bond watch. A nice twist on their PO dials.

I'm not one for marketing crap usually, but I kinda like that 007 there.

The rotor should have been enough. Omega marketing always pushes it one little step more. ::rant:

You'd love the ladies version of the 50th anniversary model, it has a diamond at the 7:00 marker.

I have to agree. The "007" applied marker is just enough, but not over the top.

It was a slow day at work today, so I took a few hours off to go to the Boutique. I had to try on the O 007 model just once more. I also tried on the AT8500 midsize with the blue dial again. Now I have a new dilemma! Instead of AT8500 or Orbis, it's now AT8500 or PO LE 007. If I get the 0007 - and right now I can't affored either - I want to get it in the next few months, as I have a feeling it will sell out like the Liquid Metal LE did.

I was also a bit surprised at that dial on the 007. I had thought it is a matt finish, but in certain lights it actually looks quite polished. Don't know why that is. In that light, it looks a bit off to me with the kind of matt greyish bezel. I shall have to take a closer look next time.

    Cheers,
    Carl

I loved this watch and was happy to write about it for the latest Lifetime, its just much classier than some of the Bond LEs and doesnt shout 'Bond fan' imho.

Not my type of fashion. Just like a tattoo on your skin - it may look cool in your younger years, but will loose its appeal when you grow older. :D

I read that if you turn the bezel so the triangle aligns with 007, when the pip glows red, the warheads are armed. Pressing the He escape detonates them, starting WWIII. Smersh/Swatch will then control the world. Insiders suggest there are still bitter arguments between Hayek Jr and Blowfeld Jr over who gets to hold the fuzzy white cat, but they agree they will immediately suspend all AD licenses and move to a pure boutique distribution model.

Obviously! That's the only way to have total control, which everyone knows is the key to world domination.

I had the local store let me see both of the LE Skyfall Bond watch and the 42mm black surface Planet Ocean like the one in the movie (steel on steel, of course) side by side. :) It felt like this LE 42mm watch was smaller somehow. I like most things about the LE from the red SeaMaster word to the grill-like surface. I wish Omega wouldn't put the 007 on the 35th minute, but in some way I thought Omega made the right decision to put it there. I know there are only 5007 watches out there in the whole entire world but I saw 2 of the LE Skyfall watches in a 30 miles radius (one at the Omega store and the other one is a jewelery store in a mall). ::love:: I wonder how many were shipped to USA???

    agree 100%

the aston martin grill dial is very very cool, my favorite limited edition is still the quantum of solace...love the ppk dial there...
very interesting story of the process that went into that and how they arrived at the etching on the dial...

we do often roll our eyes at 'limited editions' - especially the bonds that are 'limited' To 5007 and 11007 pieces...
but honestly... try to find a QOS now....
