He was an amazing football player (despite that infamous Hand of God thing) but nowadays he seems like an obnoxious character, who is absolutely not cool to be around...
It’s because they are Maradona-branded Hublots, so he is promoting them, and as they aren’t GMT he keeps one on Argentina time and one on local time.
Apparently, he wears two when he travels. Maybe he should buy a watch with GMT complication Anyway, aren't the watches in the top photo AP Royal Oak?
Buzz: Hi, I’m Buzz, pleased to meet you sir. I picked up my two-watch habits as an astronaut. I needed a reliable dual-redundant solution for life-critical timing events when on missions in space. Diego: I AM THE GREAT MARADONA. Buzz: Er, I thought you were the little hand of god, but OK whatever. So what’s with your two-watch story, you don’t do outer space do you? Diego: Hey Meester gringo, I need two watches so that I can time my next fix while cross-eyed and spaced out.
Ah yes, I saw he had a tie in with them but presumed the two on his wrists were in fact AP. Both as vulgar as each other, IMHO
Seeing how out of his F***in mind he was during the football matches I doubt he is able to see the time
I’ve had GMT watches and understand the use but I’ve never found that I really needed it. Perhaps I don’t travel continuously from one time zone to another. If I go on vacation and it’s +8 hours from home. I just remember that it’s an 8 hour time difference for the duration of my trip. I guess if you go on a non-stop trip from the U.S. to Ireland to Turkey to Moscow to Seoul it would be a more useful function.
Do a lot business with another time zone and have to call multiple times a week. Or have to interact with the home office while traveling. It makes it easier, at least for me.
This method is fine when you have the intellect to add or subtract 8 from another number. Maybe for the guy in the OP that’s too difficult, hence the option when he only has to remember which country is which wrist.
