Fantasy piece. Omega never made Uhr Fliegers, nor had crowns like that. Movement is real everything else is new.

That's an old pocket watch movement... and everything else is new... and not from Omega.

Did you read the description ?

Seller clearly states dial and case are new and custom fabricated.

Any explanation for this or they just like their fantasy vintage watches?

It's alright. Better to post and find out you're a fool than buy a fake watch first and ask questions later. Easier to learn from the former and less expensive than the latter.

Explanation? Not really. I don't know why this country is a particular hotbed for using old pocket watch movements from various brands to make fantasy watches that they often peddle as "rare and original" so you would have to ask them I suppose. But the fact remains that's where a lot of these come from.

It's clearly not because they come from a tradition of great watchmaking based on this:

"Antique watches generally experience an error of up to 5-7 minutes a day. Any accuracy of +- 5 minutes is very good."

+/- 5 minutes accuracy is very good there apparently. I also can't explain why people in the Ukraine are so concerned about people "beating" on their watches...

"Antique watches should not be beaten or dropped - because repairs may be expensive."

"Most Cases and Covers are fine components and will not handle abuse well. The watch should not be shaken, beaten, or stressed."

Anyway, having had one of these in for service once, my impression is that they are generally crap.

    Cheers, Al

did anyone check out this seller's "other" listings... there a scream! The Omega "Flieger" is the least of his sins!

I was going to chime in saying that it's a really interesting 'Bombay/Mumbai Special', happy to learn that it's in fact an Ukrayina Osoblyva (Ukraine Special)! :p
