This is a watch that I didn't think I loved... But the more I thought about it, the more I wanted it.... And as they became harder to get hold of... I realised I'd made a mistake in not buying one back in November 2015 when a local AD was clearing out at £2200. This isn't going to change my life, but it's a cool watch to have in the rotation, and I'm looking forward to helping it develop some wabi. Thanks to @DLT222 for the hookup.
Here ya go, cookie lizard - as promised: H, i t a S t? I t! Sounds like me back in 2006 or 2007 about Breitling..... and then I wore a Colt at a GTG...... and by 2008 I had to have one of their chronographs. Scratched the itch (with the assist from my wife) in March of that year.
I had a similar experience with Chonext. I actually paid £2250 for one last March by credit card and they messed me about with delivery so I cancelled. Rather regret it now. Wish I had seen them going for £2200 at an AD, I may have cracked there and then. I may pick up a FOIS at some point to numb the pain of not having one of these. Both will surely become more sought after once the supplies dry up.
Wearing mine now. Didn't think much of it when it was released but have worn it more than anything else since I bought it.
An attractive dial variant. I never knew it existed until joining the Forum. I find myself drawn to photos of them. Am not wishing to trip down the Speedmaster acquisition lane, but could see one in my future.
I've had my other Speedmaster Pro since 2002... And that's had a good amount of wear... Been coated in sambuca... Got a dent at 90 from an alternator pulley on a UR Quattro... Seen a lot of life. Very easy wearing watches. And the detail on the TinTin is a nice touch.
Congrats on the purchase! BTW....I was just on the Omega site looking at their NATOS and I think the Omega Black w/Red border would look sharp. Have you tried the TinTin on any NATOs yet? Take care...and enjoy the watch!
I love the Tintin but it also reminds me of the racing speedy... And my hankering for a vintage Mk II with racing dial keeps growing...
