Or did you mean bezel?

As a tourist to Europe I've seen more than my share of crenellations, but never seen it applied to a watch.

Crenellated (bezel) grey dial. Those bezels are SS and called crenellated as opposed to the more well known “fluted” precious metal DJ bezels. I guess on a Rolex Forum that might have made more sense.

First time I’ve heard that word! Engine turned is its common name.
