It's back up for sale... Looking to purge the splurge. Up for sale is a New Old Stock Vacheron and Constantin watch, in 18k gold, with original strap and buckle! This is the larger 36mm version, with a caliber 454. The watch is not running, as the balance wheel is stuck. I suspect it just requires a service. It's likely never been service before. $6,000 or best offer via Paypal or Bankwire. I really would like this being Conus.
wow. My bank balance, or lack of, is glad you are only shipping conus.... But my heart is broken. GLWTS, although I can't see this hanging around very long
Stunning. My grandfather's two-tone example is sadly no longer in original condition, and at 28.5mm is a small option, even for my puny wrists. Don't think I've seen a nicer VC with tear drop lugs. So, free bump just because... GLWS (though it shouldn't hang around too long)
Not that I had the funds for it, but it's nice to see a watch for sale (sold) that meets the three top requirements of collectible watches: 1) condition; 2) condition; 3) condition. There's other stuff that helps (Trinity, unusual lugs, desirable size), but wow, what a beauty. Congrats to the buyer and seller.
Ha! Best of luck fielding all those incoming private messages. And congrats on choosing wisely to keep her. You might find another just like it tomorrow, but I really really really really doubt it.
It isn't often you see a dial from that era that's original, let alone in that nice shape. The key to spotting originals (or perfect refinishes as done at the factory) is the font of the ampersand and the accent over the È in GENÈVE. Both are correct on this dial. ENFW!
Dennis, if you're trying to enable me towards another VC, you are doing a damn fine job... Must.... RESIST!!
Back up for sale... The person who claimed it kept me on stand-by for a month, telling me he was having problems with his bank. I've given up. Please PM if interested.
