Hi folks, Spending my birthday at Buenos Aires and just found two omegas New Old Stock. The first one is a 168.010 cal 564 24million serial, with Omega box.The bracelet is omega also but I am not sure if this model is indeed a constellation bracelet. The seller assured me that both are NOS. Unfortunately I did not saw the pieces personally, just this terrible photos that he sent to my phone. The second one is not a connie, but a NOS omega 161.012 witg 552 movement. I asked him to see the movement and rear case inscriptions of the watches on next wedneday. Cheers
Not sure if the 2nd one is true NOS as there are some scratches on the back and sides. The Constellation looks good, but dial pictures are very out of focus. If you are satisfied with the watch, the price is very good in today’s market. Price on the 2nd watch is very inexpensive when you include the buckle, band and box. Good luck with the negotiations, gatorcpa
The connie is nice. Fail to see how the second one is NOS - look at the case marks on the side where some gorilla has tried to open it
I would take the NOS claims with a grain of salt, but don't get hung up on that. Given these photos, these could be totally legit, or they could be frankens. Get some good photos, including of the inside, so you can verify that they are original and authentic. Then, if they are in good condition, you should get them. Don't get hung up on the bracelet, band, and buckle, since they are easily faked. Good luck, this will be a fun story!
Agree, but IMHO, inner and outer box, hangtags, strap and buckle look legit to me, and of the era. Cant really see the bracelet to form an opinion, but agree, looks promising
Ahh Argentina and Uruguay! Land of the creative watchmakers. Just be careful and have s good look at them in person. Great opportunities for great Originals and Frankens.
Just following the Omega saga in Buenos Aires... Dealing with watches here as with any other used products is not easy due to the lack of acceptance of credit cards, we must pay in cash for everything, most US Dolar. As I mentioned, the seller had two Omegas 161.012, 552 caliber, both NOS as he claims. Although the first one is working fine, I choosed the second one, it is not working and needs a service but it is more intact. The movement inside is impecable. Just need lubrification to start working again. Tomorrow I will post the movements photos. As for the connie... the story requires some more typing and I am very tired now. What I can say is that is mine now! So tomorrow saga goes on... Good night folks.
Are the minute markers on the Connie spilling over into the "pie-pan area"? Like the non flat part? Can we get a head on pic of the Connie? (not trying to scare you)
I've vetted that watch. If he didn't buy it, I would have. Does that clear up any question of its authenticity?
