I finally made an in person meetup 馃榾

Wore my gold capped C-cased connie. I also brought a Kodak Advatix 'Preview.' camera. A strange film/digital Hybrid what bankrupted and lead to the breakup of Kodak.

This strange beasty, does not save a digital image. Only the metadata is recorded on the film's magnetic coatings. No film for this has been made in decades. The film installed expired in 2003. May be a while before I shoot the other 22 frames that remain.

The image is held in a single frame buffer so when you take a photograph the prior image is erased. To make it even stranger, the image is captured after the shutter is pressed exposing the film. So the only way to save the image is to take a cell phone shot before it goes away. It is hard to get both the watch and the screen in focus.

There were some really nice watches shown. Made mine look better in the reflected light. I brought some pipe organ leather scraps to show them off. Interesting to see them laid out in the first posted photograph on the left.

What was interesting was how many of us brough UV flashlights. There were some really nice lume examples shown.

Constellations and Speedmasters seem to be the watches of choice, although a few Longines and Rolexes made guest cameos.

Thanks to all who made this possible.

look forward to the next meetup.

Definitely a watch feast! Such fun to see such different tastes and get to try on stuff you'd otherwise never see. The company is good too.
