Hi. I hope this isn't too much of a noob question, but can anyone provide any information as to the age/type of the red booklet shown? Thanks. s-l1600 (1).jpg s-l1600.jpg

Thank you. I'm surprised to see a cal 321 image on a manual from 2011. Was that a stylistic choice?

And I thought the warranty booklet was they type made in the 70s. Does the "2011" signify a date?

Not sure your circumstances, but sellers will often include accessories from other time periods an other watches to "fluff" up their sales appeal.
There should be a date on the back of the red pamphlet.

I think that's a '70s booklet, read through it and look for small print, it may have something. I had a '60s booklet, that had "Printed 2-68" or something like that, down in the corner on the last page.

I believe both documents are from the early 1970's

Now it appears everyone is on the same page, so to speak. Thanks for the help.

To my knowledge, no-one has yet deciphered what the punched numbers mean.
I always thought it was country codes but have no idea (unlike Rolex punched codes), which country.

Thank you for that image. I have just purchased the watch but do not have it in hand yet. It is marked as -76, so the 1975 booklet would probably work.

As a follow-up to this thread, I got the watch, etc today and the date on the back of the pamphlet is 11/74, but it's otherwise the same. The watch dates to 74 or 76 according to the very useful Speedmaster101 quick reference chart. Thanks again for the posts and info on this subject.

Congrats. The caseback on your watch will say -76 based on the Speedmaster logo on the Dial from the one picture you can see.

Buying this one has me thinking of buying others. My husband has been hoarding old Speedmasters and other watches for many years. He doesn't seem interested in forums. He used to be active on the military watch forum, but he has a short attention span. I'll try to get him to share some watches.

If the model is 145.022-76, it was likely produced in 1977 or 1978, but a booklet marked 11/74 very likely would have been supplied with it. Could be original, but is at the very least period correct IMO

They look to me like the four digit code on more recent plastic warranty cards - and Omega confirmed to me that these are indeed country codes (allthough they didn't say which country in my case, even though I specifically asked them).

In which case whoever 2011 is, they leaked a lot of blank documents....

Whenever I see these booklets for sale they are 2011.

In fact I haven't seen any others, but I have not seen a lot of watches with these documents from this era.

The red pamphlet is more interesting, I think, since it is clearly from the mid 70s but has an image of a cal 321 Speedmaster. Spacefruit, have you seen many of the red pamphlets?

Could be the first 861. Not abnormal considering costs to make stuff like that. Why fix something not broken. Plus back then the detail of the AML didn't mater much.
