Hey all. Super new to the Speedmaster world but I've been doing a massive amount of reading. I love the hunt and want to find a vintage watch with my eyes wide open. To that end, I'd love some verifications on my thinking.

Of course I've been scouring ebay and came across this speedy:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/141646730622?_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK:MEBIDX:ITPurchases made through these links may earn this site a commission from the eBay Partner Network

Based on my research it seems that the dial might be a replacement as it's missing the wide spaced "T's" flanking Swiss Made. Also, the serial seems far too late for a -71 stamped case back.

Is this a frankenwatch or is there enough shelf parts to warrant a 4 year spread in serials. Still doesn't account for dial issue if my thinking is correct. I've attached photos I grabbed from the bay incase they become unaccessible once the auction ends.

Thanks for a great forum. I've gotten a master class in the last few weeks.

The serial number is ok for the -71.

For me only the dial isn't correct (it's a modern one). Maybe it need a stepped one.
