Scottsdale AZ is getting a Nobu in one of the glamour spots here. Any of the OF members experience the Nobu? Do I need to go there and part way with my hard earned shekels?
The one that opened in DC has been panned by just about everyone who has eaten there. There are much better sushi places for the same (or lower) prices.
Nobu is a terribly overpriced westernized restaurant...especially for the price you can find much better.
One thing to understand is that Nobu Matsuhisa raised the bar for Japanese food in the late 80s by incorporating Peruvian ingredients into his cuisine. Nobu is certainly worth experiencing once.
Overpriced for what if offers which is fusion Japanese. I would go somewhere else for authentic Japanese food.
I’d go. It’ll probably be a good/fun experience. Then review it here! Tell us if we can get our shekels worth. Review the tiniest thing the hardest, like if their wasabi is good or not.
That is a fantastic idea. Food you review and if you spotted any watches It would be a global deal with OF’ers from all corners
That is all well and good, but these days there are at least a half-dozen peruvian/ japanese/ chinese restaurants in the DC area, and several are very good and much less expensive. I am actually surprised to see Nobu opening so many places all around the country lately, as they rarely seem to receive good reviews when compared to other local places. I hope they are not getting to overextended, and actually take a step back to examine their product and make improvements. The restaurant game in the US has improved by leaps and bounds over the last 20 years.
I think it’s more notable for its social scene, so maybe just try going to happy hour to save some money and take some watch shots with your drink
I'm not a foodie by any stretch of the imagination, but I like tuna and yellowtail sushi a lot. I've never been to any kind of "high-end" sushi place (or any other high-end restaurant, for that matter) and I've never had a bad piece of sushi from any regular sushi place. Other than portion size, I couldn't tell you the difference between any two places I've ever been to or ordered from. If I'm gonna blow $1,000, it's going to be at the strip club, not for a meal.
I've been to the ones in Dubai, London and Singapore, if you're going for food and flavour, skip it. If it's an Instagram trip, you'll get a lot of likes or hearts or whatever.
