At the latest since Rob aka @ChicagoFrog showed his Rodania chronograph here in 2017, the Geomaster is in high demand and at a lot of wishlists here at the OF.

The times when these rare birds flew under the radar have gone by far (unfortunately), what was testified by the whopping 22k CAD plus fees auction at the end of last year.

I´m quiet sure that there exist a lot of bookmarks (only from members here at OF) on ebay for "Rodania" and "Geometer" at this time.

So I was quiet surprised when during a research for a Polerouter date this fantastic Rodania popped up at my screen. The watch directly has catched my eyes and thanks to the this time beloved "buy it now" option I could add the watch (it took me just a few seconds...) to my small collection without fighting any bidding battle .

To be honest this watch was from the very first beginning a "no brainer" for me. Rob is dating the Geomaster to 1954, so due to the similar case (mabe a bit later (?) due to the applied logo), the watch might be from the mid 1950´s too. So that is quiet nice, as it shares a lot of its DNA with the Universal Polerouter date (without beeing a kind of clone). No HF signatur inside the caseback ;) @hamblar, but these lugs are as nice as they could be...

To be honest I just would had bought the watch for the beautiful case back. (Maybe I have a bigger watch problem than I thought so far...) Why? Just take a short look, it is minimum as nice as the one of the Geo.;)

Even the original crown is there...

And the movement is a beautiful finished ETA 2452, decorated with 30 jewels (there are other executions with less). Just look at the Rodania writing on the rotor, I love these small differences that set apart this watch from the more common movement versions...

This watch quiet sure might have been one of the high end Rodanias "time only" watches at this time.
Now all I have to do is to find a Geometer, then my two piece Rodania collection would be quiet perfect.

Wow that's a nice one. There are several brands with that Polerouter style case and dial.
I have seen Rado Worldtime, Festina Fielmaster, Vertina DS etc.

There are some real treasures to find in Rodania’s history.

Thanks @Koen, yours is a very nice one too:thumbsup:...
Indeed, they have a rich brand history and have built some really beautiful watches. I have seen a Rodania Valjoux 69 chrono on my research...

A rich brand history indeed, they used to sponsor Eddy Merckx!
Why I posted that photo is because that dial was sold with your rodania’s case too. In black as well.
