Purchased this watch new in 1979 from an AD.
When I went to purchase a new Omega this yr. (deserve one every 30yrs); the
dealer couldn't identify mine as having existed. Have box etc. Any ideas
on what model this is?

 

Did the dealer attempted to open the case back and look at the reference number there? If not chalk it up to incompetence because that's where the argument ends.
