    Hi fellow addicts,
I thought after having bought several no6 endlinks in the past I can tell the difference between the genuine ones and aftermarket endlinks...someone offered me these single notch no 6 and I am not 100% certain.. yet I haven't seen any single notch fakes; and the ones I am interested in have the ridge etc..but still I am not sure
    What do you think?
    Thanks for your help!!

The ridge is there...but it looks a little bit strange
I am very happy if the single notch endlink owners can take a look at these

I am no metallurgist, but the presence of that much rust on stainless steel gives me pause. High quality stainless steel doesn't easily rust.

I have learned recently that there were two types of single notch #6 end links with the theory that one version was meant for seamasters and the other for speedmasters. I'd never heard that before.

I haven't handled enough of them to know all the differences though.

Thanks for your replies! It's difficult to evaluate the single notch endlinks; they do not show up often..I haven't seen any repros yet..maybe these are the first ones we see

I am not sure if it's rust or just brown dirt...but you are completely right; they shouldn't rust...

Have nos links but no tool to measure them as precisely as you did. Would hi-res photographs help?

    Great! Thanks!
What do you think about the ones I got offered...would you buy them?
I have to tell the seller in the course of the day..

I really thought I know how the no 6 have to look...but it's not that easy

Just to add some more confusion to this thread. This was posted this morning on Ebay. The notch looks different and the end piece looks like it has age, as the edges are softer. OP's pics show sharper edges. Newer or are they NOS?

If you don't mind being asked, what is the asking price of the ends?.

Are those your pictures or the sellers pictures? I only ask because they are all slightly out of focus. They definitely have a different "feel" to their appearance than those posted by @oddboy. I know nothing about these early links, but in looking at the two from the pictures, the ones in the OP seem to have too sharp of a stamping on the 6 in comparison to the other ones, and on other vintage end pieces. But this is hard to be sure of because of the aforementioned lack of focus.

Thanks for your contribution; these are the sellers pictures; I didn't buy the endlinks yet...
But it seems it's very difficult to evaluate them..

I would appreciate if some of the single notch owners share their opinion as well if possible

It is curious that the notch location is differs on the single notch end from the the double notch end (see first photo) 2016-11-30 006.JPG 2016-11-30 007.JPG 2016-11-30 008.JPG

What about the midpiece being bent in rather than cut out, combined with no impression on the opposite side? Is this the Seamaster version?

The left ones look similar to the ones oddboy posted but double notch. However the notches seems modified by hand/file.
