·For sale is this Nivada Grenchen Antarctic Chronometer, original in every part.
In 1957/58 Nivada and some other manufacturers like, for example, JLC with the Geophysic, decided to celebrate the International Geophysical Year introducing the first edition of the Antarctic.
This one is a later chronometer version, it is in amazing condition, i would describe it as mint, it only has a light tool mark on the caseback but it is nearly visible. The case retains the brushed sunburst finish on the top of the lugs (see photos, only one i've seen with still it's original case finish) and the gold medallion on the caseback is also perfect.
The movement is the eta 2472 chronometer grade in “copper” finish, is working perfectly and keeping accurate time.
Diameter is approx. 34mm excluding the original crown.
I'm asking 600 euros including shipping by UPS to the EU. Payment by Paypal (plus fees) or bankwire.
Thanks for looking!
