Hi again, this one seems to be in very good to excellent condition, case sharp, dial and bezel very good, clean Valjoux 23, signed crown... Did I miss something? Thanks for looking, take care
I can't speak to the authenticity of the watch as a whole, but I would wear the Hell out of it. What a beauty.
The case looks bent. 3rd & 4th pics, look around the edge of the case, where the back screws in. There appears to be 3 or 4 indents.
Seriously? On what scale does this get a very good? I admit, from the front it is very attractive, & the movt. looks clean. The case & crown & pushers have multiple large dings, & the back large scratches.
Beautiful from the front, but strangely hacked up on the back. Like a car that had the rear end vandalised, still looks good from the front. Nice to wear/drive still. But Think I wouldn't buy. I'm not a NOS kind of guy. I'm more commenting on rating: do you rate something over the worste part, or average it out? I suppose it depends.
No disrespect to the OP, but more and more, I see these posts where a watch is purchased BEFORE doing their homework? Why oh why would you do that? Vintage watch collecting is a rats nest even when you do your homework.
I had the impression that the OP was asking for feedback before buying. These look like seller's photos to me.
Looks to be re-lumed hands IMO, nicely done, and possibly the indices as well. Not a bad thing, just a bit less 'original'. I agree on the sub-dial hands as replacements. The case dings are probably just a cosmetic issue, but who knows? I wouldn't want to take this model into water anyway...
