Hi, still trying to expand my knowledge about chronos... Found this one, Valjoux 23, overall good condition, seconds hand could be relumed, crown seems to be a replacement. Bezel shows some wear at the outer edge. Price is negatiable, I would be willing to pay 1500€. Do you see any issues beside that? Thanks for looking and take care
Case is polished, Bezel worn and crown looks weired. I would pass. For 1.500 you will find better examples. Nico
I'd agree - I've seen much better than this. For comparisons have a look at my Nivada blog: http://nivadanirvana.blogspot.com/ Good luck - 60s/70s Nivadas are characterful and underrated!
IThese are awesome watches - I have one that looks very similar. Bezel will be hard to find and the one pictured is worn around the edge. The crown should have the Nivada shield which I don’t believe this one does. Lume plots look like majority has flaked off. Here’s mine for reference:
Generally agree with you, however I'd point out that this example has hands and dial in exceptional condition (movement looks quite clean too). Also, albeit polished, it's not overdone. If you can live with a beat up bezel and replacement crown (or have the patience to look for originals/replacements), it's not a crazy price.
Hi, thanks for your thoughts but how about the lume on the seconds hand? It is different than the lume on the other hands IMO
You mean on the chrono hand vs. the minute/hour hands? Hard to tell without holding it but looks fine to me. Both are aged similarly.
1500 euro is way too high. Actually the polished case on this one would be a total dealbreaker for me. These watches are on eBay any day of the year. By the way, are you sure you don't want one with the broad arrow hand? I have both styles, and I really like the arrow much better.
Thank you for your feedback, will shurely let this one pass... Checked the "sold" section at ebay, there had been some similar watches in the last weeks so I think I can find a better one for a reasonable price... Have a nice evening
Hi again, this one seems to be in very good to excellent condition, case sharp, dial and bezel very good, clean Valjoux 23, signed crown... Did I miss something? Thanks for looking, take care
Nice example. Hands might be re-lumed/color matched? Dial lume plots might have been refreshed as well? Crown signed (although sometimes they were unsigned). Otherwise looks super clean. If you want a daily wear Chronomaster this could be it. Cheers.
1500 is a bit high for this condition. Keep looking you will definitely find a better example for that price.
