For sale is this Nivada Compensamatic Antarctic. The Nivada Antarctic line of watches was introduced for the 1957/58 Geophysical year, in particular for the U.S. Navy Operation Deep Freeze. 34,5mm unpolished all stainless steel case, very elegant with the twisted lugs 17 jewels manual winding movemet Lumed dauphine hands. The dial has 2 darker spots on the extreme edge between 9 and 11 (see photos n.3 - 5), it is overall in fine vintage conditions, i tried to capture it under different light situations to catch all the imperfections. The original plexi (with the magnifier date lens on the inside) has one crack at 9 and a smaller one at 4 (both on the edge of the crystal and visible on some of the photos).
