Looks like a broken Swan Neck regulator on the bracelet watch:

Bracelet also has some stretch and a fair bit of polishing, crown also appears yellow gold:

    Speaking of refinished:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/VINTAGE-SOL...?pt=Wristwatches&hash=item4d0ce099ff#viTabs_0Purchases made through these links may earn this site a commission from the eBay Partner Network

He's linked to Desmond's article, saying it was Chuck Maddox's, and that somehow that verifies the authenticity of the watch, which he admits in the title (though in the seller's notes rather than the description, which say "The dial is a mint professional restoration").

That's a classy sales pitch, invoking the name of a deceased watch collector to try to validate a junk grade second hand watch, and then getting it wrong.

The lug issue wouldn't stop me though from bidding for it (were I so inclined).

Just had a look at it. I know what he's trying to do but its a bit stiff suggesting the two dials are the same.

    I might email him.

    Thanks for the heads up

    Cheers

Good luck to you and hopefully your dream will come true, since the item is still far below what they achieved previously.

    Thank-you

    you and me both:(.

True, but the bracelet went for more than I personally expected, considering the extent of its flaws. Roughly the package sold for 8.3k?
