Nick has often in the past put "junkbox" items in his newsletters. He's now got some items on eBay and it looks like this is how he'll get rid of his bits'n'pieces. http://www.ebay.com/sch/watchmaker./m.html?item=151250806204&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2562Purchases made through these links may earn this site a commission from the eBay Partner Network For anyone interested, maybe you can snag that critical item to fix your project. Cheers Jim Bugger, wrong cut'n'paste, I'll leave it there anyway in case anybody is interested.
No jokes, I was sending it to my grandsons. It's HMAS Arunta coming onto the beach for a major re-fit over in WA. All finished now, I can get the clip of it going back into the water if anyone is interested.
Hey, can't be worse than the Canadian subs...we got a great deal and bought 4 from the Brits. Now all are in dry dock...something about leaks...
Yes even though the Brits felt bad and refunded some money, these things are crap - very bad purchase...
My older brother served as navigator on one of Canada's subs. Said they would go out on an operation, and when enough stuff would stop working they would limp back to Halifax (sometimes under tow) and maybe take out the other boat stationed there if repairs were done. Usually they missed out while the rest of the guys in surface ships went out and played NATO with the Americans. He resigned his commission. And to think we finished the war with one of the largest and most respected navies in the world..... friggin tragic!
