    hey guys,

i sort of like straight lug speedies, and i really like nice sharp edges/bevels. I'm trying to get to know them better (still!)

if you have any pics - whether yours or otherwise, I'd love to see them! the sharper the better.

here's a few to start things off - some belong to Kringkily's sales listings - who graciously said I could use them here.

Yep. Not a completely unpolished case, but crisp, un-refinished factory bevels (More pics when I get a chance)

Case has its share of scratches and age related wear, but has never been refinished or polished.

    @Davidt3449, is that a 105.003?

@jordn, nice watch! I'd love to see the lugs up close and personal! Also an Ed White?

Does anyone have an opinion on the underside of the lugs?

It seems like 2998's have a smaller flat plane on the underside of the lugs as compared to the 105.003.

I'll try to get a 2998 case pic to compare.

These two are my special occasion watches. They both have pristine cases and I'd like to keep them that way. 12.13.12 _15 ck 2998.jpg 10.8.12 _39ck2998 day1.jpg 10.7.13 _66105.003 fisheye.jpg

I'll try to post some pictures either tonight or tomorrow. Lucky enough to have a 105.003 with sharp bevels still.

So I forgot to follow-up until today when I was wearing my Ed White and remembered that I never posted my pics in here.

This is just friendly conjecture and by no means an attempt to hijack the thread but just out of interest. With most of the value being in the case and the dial are the days of sub 10K Ed Whites (the cheapest straight lug) , in such condition as those above, well in the past?

This thread needs to be resurrected from time to time :)

A (new) Ed White 105.003-64 coming from the first owner who bought it in 1969 to celebrate the Moonlanding :

    That case...

Sorry Joel, noticed I didn't reply here.

Yes the pic of mine is a 105.003-65. I think the more we see of these the more I think the -65 case has considerable differences to the -63 and -64 (not to mention the 2998).

Here are some pics of the underside of the same -65.

Have we got an unpolished-63/-64-2998 underside to compare?

I don't have a good pic handy, but I believe those little flat spots at the end of the lugs are smaller on 2998..

....err, as I said in the quoted posted. ::shy::
