I didn't like the lume then, definitely don't like it now. Also has the wrong chrono hand (still).

 

I was quite sure I have already seen it once thanks for refreshing my memory

Some dealers move pieces around to keep things fresh if sale has gone stagnant in one set of hands. Other times it could have been traded

 

Pretty sure I saw that watch when I was at HQ for an appt with my buddy. Some of their stuff is nice but I wasn't impressed with the pricing!

What's the mission of the seller? Is he just shill bidding the piece to try to hook an unknowing buyer? What about the piece gives you that "smelly" assessment? I've read elsewhere @kov is a "Speedy Freak" so I know asking a proper source for information!

Here to learn first & foremost! I hope my questions are not mundane.

I do not know the seller so cannot say anything about him. I was even asking the same question in my first message.

Also I do not consider myself as a freak - far away from that level - but I am very interested in the Moonwatches and am learning every day. Don't take my words as words of faith, there are (several) fellow OF members that know (and share) much more than I do.

Regarding this watch, it looks too nice to be nice - you'll find some explanations on why above. This was my feeling when I posted and it got somehow confirmed. I qualified this watch as smelly mainly because of the exaggerated lume color, you'll find all kind of methods people use to achieve this kind of results quite easily - if you search - out of scope here.

Finally, my post was mainly sarcastic and I am learning every day as you are so let's keep learning and sharing together

I see! Nice to meet you, wasn't sure if there was more behind the scenes then what was said above. Amazing these dealers actively get away with hooking unsuspecting collectors with franken pieces similar to this...and at such a high value...

Looks like its been left under a hot/bright lamp for a year to make the lume go that way instead of naturally.

 

For me, it's more the quality of the lines than the color. The hands though stand out as being a bit over the top. Don't see hands turning that color, though dials can be pretty close to that.
