Newly found Accutron

I just found this Bulova Accutron Deep Sea mixed in a pile of old watch cases. Gotta love those old gaskets that make a heck of a mess. Its hard to tell through the scratched and dull crystal but I think the dial and lume look to be in very good shape for the age. Now we're going to get the movement out and clean up the melted gasket and see if it actually runs. I know there isn't a lot of value in these but if I can get it going for less than a couple hundred bucks, she will be a nice addition to the collection.

Will post more later. Now to get busy.

When I picked up my Snorkel it was very much in a similar state. That melted gasket was a mess I鈥檒l be glad to not deal with again. Though, I can say these do clean up well 馃憤 have fun with yours!

@JwRosenthal Did someone say SNORKEL?

I like that red dial. Nice looking watch. The only thing I don't like are those cases that really limit your ability to use alternate bands.

Galaxytime, What did you use to rehab the crystal?

I tried polsihing the crystal but there are too many deep scratches and a small chip/crack so I ordered what I beleive to be a NOS crystal for it. I'll try and get some more pictures tomorrow. The case cleaned up real nice and the movement is running but definitely needs a service. Fingers crossed that it doesn't need any parts.
