Bought my first omega in an auction today. Here are pics, hoping somebe can tell me a little about this gem. Says it is 1/99007, is that even a thing? Says it is limited edition. Thanks for any help.

Ok.
Can you get your money back?
Dont think so. Pd 550 plus auction premium. What all is wrong with it?

The bezel pip is wrong. Fakes use a Rolex type position, which is lower in the triangle than omega pips.

The bezel is wrong.

The case back is utterly and completely wrong. That's not an Omega case back. Not the gen it represents, not the prior generation.

Never trust a watch that is 001/ XXX. Ever.

The hands are wrong, they are too short in the wrong shape as if they were from the prior generation

The bracelet is from the prior generation (underside tab design)

The Escape valve is wrong for this generation and it's from the prior

It's probably a 41mm watch

Literally everything about this watch is wrong. It's not real.

I hope you have buyer protection/eBay authentication or other cover.
Cancel the sale if you can.

Thanks guys, paid for an education.

Get your money back! On what site did you purchase this? Most sites have buyer protection.... and if the site you use doesn't, always always always use a source that does

EDIT: it's worth squabbling with the buyer.

Further info: some of the threads in the FS section and Private FS section have excellent images of what the watches should look like. Bezel pip, bracelet, HeV, handset, caseback, and bracelet are often giveaways.

Also: @dsio has an excellent Recommended modern watches on Ebay thread that has deals and bargains- and those watches are not only real (and often vetted by forum members), they have buyer protection.

I'm really sorry this happened to you, OP.

Just got excited and didnt do my homework.

Super sorry to hear this. please see my edit above. Best of luck with a real seamaster, it's such a fantastic watch.

Can you do a chargeback? If the auction claims it was real, you've maybe got something.

link to the auction?
