Hey guys I am new to the watch game and looking at purchasing my first watch. Debating among a few different ones (blue seamaster, black seamaster or a sub)... Anyways something I have noticed, on the Seamaster the "waves" on the face were added at some point. Now when I look at the newer Seamasters I feel like that design is not made. Is that a correct statement? I think I am liking the waves on the face and not sure when they stopped making them that way.

The Seamaster Pros had wave dials from the early/mid 1990s until 2011 when the ceramic bezel/gloss dials were introduced.

    Welcome to the forum BTW!

The new ceramic ones are only automatic, Omega did make quartz versions of the wave dials. The easy way to spot the automatics is they say "CHRONOMETER" on the dial, the quartz versions do not.
