I picked this up at an estate sale, as a package of 9 watches. I have done the research, and everything "appears" legit. Can anyone help me? The movement appears to be a 660, 17 jewel, unadjusted. which is circa 1972, and since the back is engraved and dated 1977, that would coincide together. The serial numbers do not match, but I am assuming that would be because the watch had an original back, and then Honeywell had it changed to engrave their message. (does that sound right?)
Any help I can get would be appreciated, the watch does run, and seems fairly accurate, although without a second hand, I can't tell for sure.

Movement number (serial number) and case back number do not match on these ore pretty much any Omega for that matter.

Reference number SS5336 correlates to a US made case for the American market.

So I have an American made case, does that now mean I have a fake?

    No, not at all.

The exclusive US Omega distributor at the time Norman Morris had cases made here using Swiss movements in order to avoid import duties on fully Swiss watches, these duties were imposed to protect the American watch industry.

This is a completely legitimate and genuine Omega.

Thanks for all of your help and knowledge. Now, I can throw it on EBay as a real Omega. You'd never believe the price I paid for it, that's why I assumed it was fake. Again, Thank you, for helping an idiot out

Congrats with the find. You should be able to get at least 400$ with that bracelet, possibly more.
I gave my wife a Ladymatic and rather to my surprise she loves it and uses it almost every day. What would ms. Marcus say?

Thank all of you for helping this dummy out, You have all been so kind and helpful.
Ms Marcus is a lot like me, in that she doesn't like smaller watches, even with a "name" associated with it. Neither of us prefer a watch under 40mm.
The stupid thing about all of this is how I acquired this watch at all. I bought this online, at a Goodwill auction. It was part of a 9 watch grabbag, that the total bid was $4.99, plus shipping, so I have a grand total of $1.62 in this watch at the moment. I word it like that because on the 21st, I am taking it to Nashville, to an independent 3rd party appraiser who is suppose to examine, and document the watch, and give his opinion on what it is worth.
    Again, thank you all.

Not likely. 10K gold-filled with an inscription even in good condition will struggle to fetch $75-$100.

But when I only have $1.62 in it, $100 is a nice ROI

Do you think it would be possible and / or worth trying to find another case back for this watch that was not engraved?
