You can absolutely do that! Zero reason you can't. Omega made so many dial varants back in the day, there's no way to document them all. Even they didn't document them all.

If you don't have a watchmaker you trust, share where you are and we can recommend a few.

Thank all of you so much! I’m not a huge forum guy and I don’t do social media but when I have the forums are plagued by knuckleheads who ruin it for everyone else. You all are warm, friendly, and definitely know what you’re talking about. Amazing the amount of information you all have a gave me.

I’m in a suburb of Denver Co. if you or anyone knows a trustworthy watchmaker in the Denver metro area I’d appreciate the assistance. Also not knowing why it won’t run but also knowing the balance/jewel and the pallet fork look okay is there a ballpark dollar amount I should expect to pay for a service?

If you want to keep the watch I am sure someone will be able to recommend someone trustworthy near you.

Otherwise if you plan to sell most collectors would prefer to buy as is so that we can take care of the repairs.

The guys I use to service these movements charges me $200 + parts

Close enough in New Mexico is our friend and member @GMOG

Give him a call, he's been a provider and valued source of knowledge for many years.
