This beauty came in a few days ago. I really like this dial design with numeral quarters, seconds subdial at six and dauphine hands. Lume on dial and hands are patina-perfect and lastly, this case is amazing! I'll name it the "leaf" -shaped case The watch has fixed spring bars but since I have been working with leather, I proudly handmade this "permanent" strap (i.e. strap was made on the watch) which complements the dial, I think! And here are the pictures! Cheers!
Thanks Ed! Here's a movement shot. I haven't figured out what caliber it is. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Howard I think this might be a Zenith 126-6 or at least in that family of movements. This would date this from 1950 to 1955ish.
Thanks Ed! It does look like it has a '6' under the bridge ... I can't open the case back anymore though after Bob put it back on.
Ed is right about the "126-6 family," but it looks like a cal 40. The tip-off is the "40" inscribed beneath the balance wheel. Serial number dates the movement to 1958.
Not sure I've ever seen a Zenith look more beautiful! Congratulations... I suppose I could put in a dibs, too! Small chance, but a guy can always dream...
