Called in at Goldsmiths Solihull this afternoon for a quick browse & plenty of Omegas available , & I was outnumbered 4-1 by the staff as I was the only non sales person in there . Anyway while looking at some nice speedmasters , one of the saleswomen said there will be a price increase from New Year's Day on all Omegas .I asked if this was just at goldsmiths or for all omega dealers , Apparently it's a direct increase across all ranges & all omega dealers . I also asked what percentage the increase would be , but saleswomen said she didn't know . Has anyone else this heard this or was it another sales spin to buy now .

I've heard this is true from various here and elsewhere. And I haven't heard anything to the contrary. Tomorrow could be a brisk day...

sounds like a good plan....go ahead and raise prices and continue providing vague delivery dates.

I have heard this too. Wonder the percentage. My AD says sales have been terrible over December, so another 5-10% won’t help that.

This comes as no surprise--with China's ambiguous economic numbers, with Euro instability, and with the US market's 20% dive and unconvincing rebound, people are holding onto cash. The middle ground secondary market is also having some problems, a lot of BIN watches on eBay going unsold--. We are due for some kind of correction anyhow. At least this is my take on the situation.

I think I started a tread about this a few days ago. Long story short I was speaking with Omega boutique about a strap and they told me about the 1st Jan increase, I don’t know what numbers they are talking about.

That won’t help rebound sales. It will even make things worse.

Not sure about that... not all models have been increased. The new Seamaster 300 is still at £3,600. I would think Omega is anticipating a rush on Speedmasters this year due to the Apollo XI anniversary.

I guess they incorporated the increase when they released the new one (700 quid more). Still, on basis the seamaster is cheaper than the speedy I think it really is tremendous value for what you get.

They allso increased the Warranty on Speedmaster to 5-years, i guess this is also part of the calculation.

I guess the increasing price only helps the stock stay in the stores even longer.........

A really bad 2019 news, especially because from what I see, selling is not that impressive in the last period...

Omega increased their prices for all four Speedy Pro models by $100 in the U.S.

Across the board? Just remembered that article of AA from a few days ago, concerning the stock that both brands and dealers currently have. Looks like Omega’s stock is not that big after all. Othewise why would NH be deciding to let price go up?

I think the reality is that with the GBP fx rate all UK pricing for global brands is going to increase in the near future. When the current prices were set the GBP was trading at least 10% higher than it currently is. Until that time there are some bargains to be had in the UK at the moment for those spending USD or EUR.

I've put a deposit down on the 1948 LE what was due out in September but still hadn't appeared, do you the price will rise or stay the same ?

    It’s a $300 increase in Australia. Therefore US$1 must equal AUS$3...
Maybe it’s the extra freight costs
